Independent School District #318 is in the process of
implementing Honeywell's Instant Alert® for
Schools communication system.
Serving more than 1200 schools contacting over 1 million
parents and guardians throughout the United States, Honeywell Instant
Alert® for Schools is improving communications schools-to-home. A
Web-based service, Honeywell Instant Alert®
allows schools to send up to 100,000 messages in 15 minutes. Voice and
text messages can be sent via land and cell phone and/or email.
Attachments to email helps to eliminate paper use and reduce copying
costs.
Schools use Honeywell Instant Alert® for both
routine and emergency notifications. Examples of routine notifications
include: activity schedules, teacher conference reminders, and truancy
reporting. Emergency notifications may include: school lockdowns,
weather related and mechanical breakdown closings, amber alerts, and bus
delays.
